Solar panels

Solbian was created as a result of a bet. Giovanni Soldini and Marco Bianucci (the most important Italian navigator and a renowned physicist) wanted to use solar energy on racing sailboats. Although photovoltaics was already widespread in 2006, the use of solar energy on moving vehicles was still at a pioneering stage. The photovoltaic modules used in building construction were too heavy, with a rigid glass cover and unsuitable for the marine environment. The two friends thus combined their passion for sailing and renewable energy sources. They wanted to make lightweight and flexible solar panels out of fragile monocrystalline silicon solar cells. The most efficient system for generating electricity on board vessels, with different orientation and shading, was called MPPT. Solbian solar panels are used on regatta sailboats and in the entire maritime industry, on motorhomes, mountain huts, race cars, bicycle charging stations, mobile phone charging stations and more. For Slovenia, our company is the official representative.

SP Series

Solar panels of the highest quality by Solbian. They operate on the principle of SunPowerTM technology, where monocrystalline silicon cells with reverse contact achieve the conversion of 24% sunlight into electricity. Electrical contacts are concealed on the rear side, so the upper cells are flat.

SR SERIES

High-efficiency monocrystalline cells are surrounded by two patented metal meshes. The metal grid at the front of the cell is specifically designed to maximise current collection. On the back of the cell, the second grid provides exceptional resistance to cracks and excessive bending. The meshes essentially form a double shield acting as a conductive reinforcement for the solar cell. An exceptional tolerance for cracks and bends is built in, ensuring high efficiency and unsurpassed durability. This series of cells has the longest life span.

SX SERIES

Monocrystalline solar cells are electrically connected to very thin copper wires that form a very fine net on the surface, which means thousands of contact points. The series is suitable for flexible modules due to its insensitivity to microcracks, which are the most common cause of energy loss in solar modules. Another advantage of this series is the lower sensitivity to shading, which represents a major maritime advantage. Due to the new technology of bonding and the use of high-efficiency silicon cells, SX panels are particularly powerful and reliable.
