On the world market, the demand for outboard engines is growing. The biggest increase is right in the class of powerful engines. Many boat manufacturers decide to equip larger vessels, extending over a length of 12 m, with multiple outboard engines. As vessels get bigger, the engines need to get stronger. More and more often we meet vessels on which we can install not only two, but three or even four high-power outboard engines.
Making an engine with more power is no secret. The volume is increased and the turbocharger is added, so the engine has more power. Of course, more powerful engines consume more fuel, they are bigger and heavier, increasingly complex and reliability becomes a problem.
Regardless of the engine power, the speed of the vessel is always determined by the hull shape, hydrodynamic properties, propellers and the way the engine is installed on the vessel. Therefore, in constructing the new muscles at Suzuki, they decided to start constructing on a blank sheet of paper and to take all the above factors into account. First, they reviewed the existing solutions of single propeller outboard engines. The fact is that such an engine produces a lot of thrust but unfortunately as a by-product it causes a great deal of torque to the vessel due to the rotation of the propeller in one direction. In order to use this lost energy in a useful way, they quickly decided that it would be necessary to use two propellers that rotate in the opposite direction. Another problem of the drive is the transmission in front of the propellers, which hinders the ideal flow of water to the propellers. The higher the engine power and torque, the more powerful the transmission must be to transfer power from the engine driveshaft to the propeller shaft. Because of this, the transmissions are larger and their casing hinders the flow of water to thepropeller.
Suzuki has for years developed the engine, performed numerous tests and measurements in order to improve the way in which the power of the engine is best translated into the thrust of the water.

Advantages: Dual Prop System, DOHC engine, 24 valves, 4.3 L, Lean Burn system to reduce consumption, timing chain instead of belt, air-cooled high performance alternator, multi-point sequential electronic injection, Suzuki anti-corrosion protection, self-diagnostics system, service interval warning, CDI ignition system for quieter running, Suzuki trolling system (optional).
